Happy New Year!
January 2010 marks the beginning of our 9th year of service to Chico dogs and their people. We are so excited about the programs and events that are planned for this coming year. Besides our outstanding line-up of training classes and dog day care, we’ll be having art shows, events, exhibitions, and seminars. Our mission – our sole purpose for being here – is to help create loving, lively, and lifelong relationships between dogs and their people and to cultivate a community of dog-loving friends. Come visit us and share in our 2010 celebration of all things dog!

2010 – A Year of Dog Art
We are all about celebrating our relationship with dogs, and what better way than through art! This year, at our center, we are featuring local artists who love to draw, paint, sculpt, photograph, and otherwise create to celebrate dogs. Our first featured artist is Jean Summerville. Her paintings, on display and for sale at our center, are “bursting with color, inspiration, and smile-creating flavor.” They might even make you giggle as you imagine how she might depict your dog.

New DAYTIME classes
We’ve launched our daytime training program. Mondays are reserved for daytime classes, to include Small Dog Obedience Basics and Puppy Kindergarten. Winter daytime classes begin January 25. Click here to read more about these classes. Don’t wait to reserve your daytime place!

Puppy Socials on Thursdays!
Puppy Socials are designed to give puppies opportunities to play with their puppy peers. This program is so much fun, for dogs AND their people, and is also important for building dog-dog play skills. Puppies between 10 weeks and 6ish months old who are enrolled in current, previous or future Puppy Kindergarten classes can come on out and meet and greet other puppies, and play, play, play! Time is 5:45 - 6:45 PM, every Thursday. Drop-in fee is $10.

Drop-In Tricks Class!
Trick, click, and treat! That’s the motto of our newest class, Tricks for Life. This class teaches tricks that are fun and handy too. Drop in each week to learn a new trick that is fun to teach, fun to learn, fun to perform, and will help improve your dog’s behavior and wellbeing too! Participating dogs must be friendly with other dogs. Drop-in fee is $10 for Canine Connection students or alumni. Bring lots of treats!

Finnigan and Garrison play at Day care while Charlie referees. All playmates are distinguished grads of our training program.

Dog Day Care
(or “Play Care” as we like to call it!)
More Days, More Fun!

We are having SO much fun with day care, and the dogs are too! Tuesdays and Thursdays are open to all dogs, regardless of size. Wednesday is just for the Petite Pooch Set (dogs under 25ish pounds).

What happens during day care? You drop your dog off first thing in the morning, and they stay and play! They enjoy healthy romps with other dogs, stimulating toys and agility, wholesome treats, relaxing rest, and reinforcement of good manners.

Our skilled and attentive staff supervise the fun. At the end of the sessions, dogs go home happy, relaxed, and better socialized.
